
Sæverud Anniversary

“Whether you like Sæverud’s music or not,” said the great conductor Sir John Barbirolli, ‘there is never any doubt about who has written it.’
This concert celebrates the steadfast, humorous and wild world of composer Harald Sæverud, born 125 years ago in Bergen and closely associated with its orchestra, which he frequently conducted, ever since.

The Magic Flute

Rusalka

Dvořák’s Rusalka is regarded as a national treasure in the Czech Republic, however in Norway this romantic and melodic gem is rarely performed. Gullberg Jensen conducted Rusalka, for the first time in Norway, in Oslo in 2009 for the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet.
A new production by Bergen National Opera.
Presented by Bergen National Opera in collaboration with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Edvard Grieg Kor.
