Ein deutsches Requiem
Edvard Grieg Kor participates in the performance of Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem.
Chief Conductor Edward Gardner re-introduces us to a seminal work: the German Requiem by Brahms.
Joined by world-class soloists Camilla Tilling and Florian Boesch with a chorus of mixed voices, maestro Gardner presents the piece which, in spite of its use of biblical texts, is considered a milestone of humanistic art.
Abandoning the traditional Latin mass, Brahms envisioned a more universal requiem which profoundly addresses the themes of catharsis, consolation and comfort for the bereaved.
The concert is made possible by the generous support of Rika AS, Yvonne and Bjarne Rieber.
