“How then can mortall tongue hope to expresse
The image of such endlesse perfectnesse?”

This final couplet from Edmund Spenser’s poem “Faire is the heaven”, so exquisitely set to music by Sir William Harris, is the departure point for “Mot himmelen”, a programme of music by Parry, Ligeti, Grieg and Harris in which each composer explores in their own deeply personal way the nature of heaven and eternity.
