The choral work “Lux Aeterna” was composed by the Hungarian-Austrian composer György Ligeti (1923-2006) in 1966 and is both mysterious, disturbing and peacefully beautiful. Film director Stanley Kubrick used the music in his 1968, 2001 film classic: A Space Odyssey. The text is taken from the Roman Catholic Requiem Mass.
