Hilde Veslemøy Hagen
Hilde Veslemøy Hagen is from Bergen and has a Master’s degree in singing from the Grieg Academy where she studied under Hilde Haraldsen Sveen.
Hilde has a broad repertoire, and has been a soloist in several oratorio and Church-Music concerts including Händel’s Messiah, Bach’s B-minor mass and St. John Passion, Haydn’s The Creation and The Seasons, Mozart’s Requiem and Britten’s The Company of Heaven. Through her annual participation in Musica Nord’s concert series, “Grieg in Bergen”, Hilde has more than 100 times told the story of Edvard Grieg’s life through song. She has held several concerts at Troldhaugen, the home of Grieg, both in his house and in the concert hall, Troldsalen.
On the opera stage, Hilde has appeared as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Magic Flute (Grieghallen and Järna Kulturhus, Sweden), Baby Blue in Libby Larsen’s Dreaming Blue and in Knut Waage’s opera, Veslefrikk in Tromsø, Bergen and Szeged, Hungary. She has performed as a soloist with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, and has taken part in several productions with Bergen Nasjonale Opera, both as a soloist and a chorus member.
Hilde has been a member of Edvard Grieg Kor since its formation in 2003 (then KorVest) and has performed in most of their concerts. She has also appeared as a chorus member in several recordings with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir. In 2005 she received the Bergen Kommune’s etableringsstipend, a stipend given to Bergen’s most promising up-and-coming artists.
